Teodor Karakolev (Teo) is an Emmy-nominated internationally recognized media producer. With over a decade of professional experience in the audio-visual industry, Teodor has established a successful name as a content creator in United States, Europe and Asia.
Born (1992) and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, Teo is introduced to music at age 6, when he starts solfeggio and piano lessons. A year later, he auditions and is accepted in one of the most famous Children Choirs in the world: Children’s Choir of the National Bulgarian Radio, where he sang for seven year. Throughout that time he participate with the Choir in over a hundred and fifty concerts both nationally and internationally. Teo tours with them in Japan, Italy and Czech Republic. He is also a soloist for the Choir for several performances, as well as for the album: “Vitamins, Vitamins” (Витамини, витамини!).
At the age of 9 years old, along the piano and solfeggio, Teodor starts taking percussion lessons with Maria Palieva – an internationally recognized award winning percussion teacher, in effort to get accepted in the prestigious National School of Music (NSM) “L. Pipkov” as percussion major.
In 2003 he is accepted in the School as a percussion principle. Over the period of eight years at NSM, Teodor participates in a variety of programs and competitions including school orchestras and national percussion competitions. He performs in a number of concerts around the country and wins multiple awards in the Young Virtuoso International Competition. In 2009 Teo is honorably mentioned in the composition competition “Edmond Demirdjian,” for one of his first compositional works entitled “Feelings”.
During Teodor’s period at NSM, he is also introduced to the world of Visual Production. He often auditions for small roles in Bulgarian and European movies and TV Shows. More prominent works would include the Italian Feature Film “Exodus”, directed by Gianluigi Calderone, featuring Monica Guerritore and The Bulgarian Production “Magna Aura”.
In his senior year in NSM “L. Pipkov”, Teodor is already established in the Bulgarian entertainment scene as a young producer and composer. His works are featured and performed all around the country. Additionally, at the age of 17, he is commissioned by Universal Music Bulgaria for the Bulgarian version of the “The Voice”, where he composes original music for Todor Gadjalov, one of the finalists in the 2011 season. One of the most notable songs from that collaboration is the single “Still Love You” which upon its releases performs at the top of the radio charts in Bulgaria for 3 consecutive months. Additionally, the song is featured on Eurovision Bulgaria – an annual European TV song competition with one of the largest television audience gatherings in Europe.
In the Spring of 2012, Teodor starts his higher education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he is immediately hired by the College as a Media Producer and Technical Director. He quickly gains a reputation throughout the campus as the “go-to” audio-video creator. Teodor produces sizzles, promotional content, commercials, interviews and live performances that served to better represent the College online. Many of these works become critically acclaimed and reviewed by major outlets both in United States, Asia and Europe. In 2015 Teo Karakolev successfully completes Berklee with Bachelors in Film Scoring and minor in Writing for Media.
Shortly thereafter, Teo starts working with Air Philosophy and BET on various shows, including the BET Awards, BET Hip-Hop Awards, Soul Train Awards and various other Television projects. In addition to that, Teo Karakolev starts working with several world-renowned Esports organizations like ESL, Epic Games, Tencent Games, Activision on major game tournaments and live broadcasts like Intel Extreme Masters, Fortnite World Cup, Twitch Rivals, AWC Arena of Valor and more.
As of 2022 Teo Karakolev has garnered even more critical success in the and Esports industry. Additional titles he is currently working on include Riot Games’ Wild Rift Icons, Valorant Champions Series and League of Legends Academy Series. Teo Karakolev also works on the 2022 Halo Championship Series and 2022 Rocket League Championship Series Major. He also works on projects for The Academy of Motion Pictures, Netflix, Warner Brothers several other very well known companies in the Film and Television Industries. Most of the work Teo produces or directs gathers incredible commercial success and astounding viewership count.
